# Cash Reports

**Cash reports** allow you to analyze:

- Closings performed per day.
- Differences (surpluses/shortages) per user.
- Detail of movements and payment methods.

They're fundamental for internal control and cash handling audit.

## Report types

In the Cash Registers module you'll find, according to your configuration:

- **Daily cash report**: summary by date and cash register.
- **Report by user/shift**: detail of who operated the cash register and how they closed.
- **Movement detail**: listing of manual income and expenses.

## Common filters

You can filter reports by:

- **Date** (or date range).
- **Cash register**.
- **User**.
- **Shift status** (open/closed).

This allows you to answer questions like:

- Which cash register had more differences this week?
- Which user closed with recurring over-differences?
- How much cash was withdrawn for expenses?

## Difference analysis

Within each closing report you'll see:

- **Theoretical balance** vs. **counted balance**.
- **Absolute difference** and if it's surplus or shortage.
- Notes attached to the closing (if recorded).

Recommendations:

- Periodically review accumulated differences.
- Use notes to document findings and incidents.
- If you find concerning patterns, adjust internal processes or user permissions.

## Export and reconciliation

According to your Sarah version, you can:

- Export reports to **CSV/Excel** for external analysis.
- Reconcile cash information with:
  - Bank statements.
  - MercadoPago or other collection method reports.

To go deeper into general business analysis, you can also use the [Dashboard and Reports](/docs/dashboard/overview) module.
