Sarah supports four main promotion types, each designed for different marketing and sales strategies.
1. Buy X Get Y (Buy X, Pay for Y)
This promotion type is ideal for offers like "2x1", "3x2", or "Buy 3, Pay for 2".
How It Works
- Customer buys X eligible products
- Gets Y products free or with discount
- Free products are added as discount lines in the sale
Example
Configuration:
- X = 2
- Y = 1
- Target: Category "Beverages"
Result:
- Customer buys 2 beverages → Gets 1 beverage free
- Customer buys 4 beverages → Gets 2 beverages free
Use Cases
- Stock liquidation
- Seasonal promotions
- New product launches
- Customer retention
2. Discount on Nth Product
Applies a specific discount to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th product (or any position) of a group of eligible products.
How It Works
- Customer adds products to cart
- System identifies the Nth eligible product
- Configured discount is applied to that specific product
Example
Configuration:
- N = 3 (third product)
- Discount = 50%
- Target: All products
Result:
- Customer buys 3 products → 3rd product has 50% discount
- Customer buys 6 products → 3rd and 6th products have 50% discount
Use Cases
- Incentivize larger quantity purchases
- "Every 3rd product" type promotions
- Tiered discounts
3. Percentage Discount
Applies a percentage discount to products that match configured targets.
How It Works
- Eligible products are identified according to targets
- Configured discount percentage is applied
- Discount is calculated on unit price
Example
Configuration:
- Discount = 20%
- Target: Brand "Premium"
Result:
- All products from "Premium" brand have 20% discount
- If a product costs $1000, customer pays $800
Use Cases
- Seasonal discounts
- Brand offers
- Category discounts
- General promotions
4. Fixed Price for Combos (Bundle)
Sets a special fixed price when a specific set of products are purchased together.
How It Works
- Customer must add all combo products to cart
- Configured fixed price is applied for the set
- Individual products are adjusted to reflect combo price
Example
Configuration:
- Products: [Burger, Fries, Drink]
- Fixed Price: $1500
Result:
- If customer adds all 3 products → $1500 price is applied for the combo
- If any product is missing → Promotion doesn't apply
Use Cases
- Menu combos
- Related product packages
- Complementary product offers
