Bulk Product Import
How to import products and prices from Excel or CSV files.
Last updated: 2025-01-26
Bulk import allows you to create or update hundreds or thousands of products in a few steps, using Excel or CSV files.
This functionality is ideal for:
- Initial migration from another system.
- Periodic price updates.
- Incorporating large catalogs of new products.
Prepare the file
- Download the example template from the Bulk Import module.
- Complete required columns:
- Code / SKU
- Name
- Price
- Cost
- Category
- Barcode (optional)
- Save the file in CSV or XLSX format as supported by the system.
Tip: Make sure column headers match exactly the names indicated in the template.
Upload the file
- In the Products or Inventory module, look for the "Import / Bulk import" option.
- Select the prepared file.
- Review the preview:
- The system will show interpreted rows.
- You'll see possible errors (missing fields, incorrect formats, duplicates, etc.).
- Confirm the import.
What happens during import
During the process, Sarah:
- Creates new products for rows with codes that didn't exist.
- Updates data (price, description, etc.) for existing products with the same code.
- Can optionally create initial stock records per warehouse (according to configuration).
If there are errors in some rows:
- The system will mark them so you can correct them and retry.
Best practices
- Make a backup of your database before large imports.
- Start with a small test file to validate the format.
- Keep a record of imports performed (date, user, file used).
